ANIMAL FARM
a group show that explores the evolving roles, symbolism, and presence of animals in art and culture—from ancient myths to modern pets, from spiritual beings to companions of survival and care. The exhibition draws its title and conceptual foundation from George Orwell’s 1945 allegorical novella Animal Farm. As the book critiques authoritarianism and capitalist betrayal of collective ideals, our show aims to reflect on the tensions of our current moment—while imagining more harmonious, interspecies futures grounded in unity, dignity, and mutual respect.
Sorgenfri loves animals and is fighting for animal rights on all levels. We are not presenting design works made from animal materials, and our café is also plant-based.
This final exhibition will not only honor the legacy of Sorgenfri as a hub for young creatives and sustainable art practices, but also stand as a farewell to a space that has housed ideas, resistance, and care—and, last but not least, give a voice to the voiceless.
We hope you'll join us in making it powerful, strange, and unforgettable.
